“Clients come in once or twice and then drift away, and I don't have time to personally reach out to hundreds of people.”

“People say they were referred but I have no idea by whom, so I never thank anyone.”
Add one required question at booking asking how they heard about you, and store the answer on the client record where you will actually see it again. Referrals are usually the largest source of new business and the least measured. Knowing who sends people lets you thank them by name, which costs nothing and is what produces the next referral.
How we estimated that: Assumes an hour a week currently spent trying to reconstruct where clients came from. This is a model, not a measurement — check it against your own numbers, because if the assumption does not match your business the figure will not either.
